Organizing Stuff Galore

I’m all for organizing stuff. I especially hate clutter. When I got the June issue of Real Simple this month and there was an article titled, 99 Low-Cost Organizing Ideas, I went straight for the article to read the list. It has useful information and tips.

It had this interesting bit about storing DVDs into DiscSoxs.

1. Organize your DVDs by slipping them into DiscSox boxes with plastic sleeves (shown) so you can flip through them by genre or artist.*

I did check it out and even considered buying it. Even with the 10% discount, it was pricy.

I did go for an inexpensive route and bought CD/DVD sleeves at Staples. I also bought a CD box container to house it. Total cost was below $50, but I would need to buy another package of sleeves, so lets say about $65.

We only have a small collection of DVDs (less than 130), but it was cluttering next to our sofa for months. I hated it there since it was such a eyesore. I should have taken a before and after picture, but the side of the sofa is now clutter free!

Damn Gas Prices

What really pains me lately is the price of gas. Every one knows that it is going up and up. And this morning, I heard on the radio that most likely it will go up again because of the long Memorial Day weekend. Damnit.

This morning, I filled up the Honda Accord’s gas tank and it freaken cost me $50.49! Ugh. The price per gallon today is $3.79 (for regular). Of course we can’t really do anything about it but just suck it in and empty our wallets. :-(

X-Files 2 Movie Poster

According to XFU, this is the final poster for XF2.



I'm still thinking if I should buy this poster or that other XF2 postre. It will be perfect with my FtF movie poster that I have. I actually took it out from the back of the poster frame and put it over the Star War Episode 3 poster with it. Yeah I know. I'm a total geek. :-p

Battle of the Bedroom Benches

Buying furniture and decorating a room is pretty fun. My Husband and I recently bought a chaise lounge several weeks ago at a local furniture store. We bought the townhouse exactly one year ago, before we got married. So we slowly we have been furnishing it. Of course with the wedding, we had to do it that way.

My Mom has been saying to us to slowly do it that way because you don’t want to spend ALL your money on furniture. This of course is good advice, since we already wiped out our savings to put the down payment. Gah! I felt the same way when I bought my investment property a few years ago.

Our chaise lounge is now sitting pretty in our living room. It is the matching one with our big sofa. When we eventually buy a bigger house once we start having kids, most likely this furniture will be in the family room. For now, it is our living/entertainment room!

We also bought a 3 shelf bookcase from Target to go to our 3rd floor bedroom which we turned into a office/guest room/rec room. Soon his dartboard (which he bought several months ago) will finally go on the wall later tonight.

Next up on our “to buy list” is a bedroom bench. We went to the big sale at Macy’s last night and visit their furniture department. Everything is sooooooo expensive. Even if a sale price was slapped on it, still expensive.

It is on sale for $375 but after the coupon discount of 10% and plus the MA state tax, it will cost $354.38.

Now there is another furniture store that has a bench it is pretty much close to the color of our bedroom set. We plan to put it at the foot of the bed of course. It is this one here.


Now that is going for $370, but no discount. So it will cost us $388.50, which is slightly below what we paid for our chaise lounge.

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li

Another movie that I’m looking forward to is Kristin Kreuk’s new motion picture called Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.


Here is a first look of her with the buns! So much like Princess Leia yes? Thanks to Steph for the find. The guy is a stuntman.




Apparently, mostly everything Kreuk fans find on the net about this movie tends to disappear or be removed. So if you find anything, SAVE IT!

X-Files Movie!

The long awaited movie is coming on July 25th! And it is called X-Files: I Want to Believe. I’ve been for years for this movie. I read that the official trailer will be shown in the theaters starting May 2 with the Iron Man movie. I am sooooooo going.

And look at this. A new promotion shot of Mulder and Scully! Gah!
